boyfriends.

I am FAR FAR FAR from being a "in fashion" dresser. Usually my friends are the first to pick up on trends and months later they finally grow on me enough that I want them. {i.e. the romper}
Lately I've been craving a pair of boyfriend jeans. There are just some moments when putting on a pair of loose-fitting, super soft jeans sounds oh-so-relaxing. I believe I mentioned my obsession with jeans in this post, and a pair of BF's would really just further my collection. {loving the idea of that}
So here are 2 I've picked out that I like. {click to go to the links

BUT here's the problem. I'm just not even sure how to go about wearing these! With heels? With sandals? With a tank top? With a loose fitting T? With a tight fitting T?
Do you see my confusion??!?
I need help!
So tell me which pair? and how do I wear them?!

ww.

It’s funny when I look back over my weekends this summer. Most of them were filled with weddings or wedding related parties, but then there were the ones that were filled with “nothing”. Those are the weekends I look back on and think….’I didn’t really do anything, but man that was fun!’.

This was one of those weekends.

FRIDAY night I stayed home and cleaned, caught up on my DVR, had a nice glass of wine, and was in bed by 11.

SATURDAY morning I woke up early and made my second trip of the summer to the local Farmer’s Market.

This time, the market had far more fruits, flowers, and a lot more vendors.

I picked up:
  • Whole Wheat Pizza Crusts
  • 1 bunch of Basil
  • Fresh organic Strawberries
  • 4 small red potatoes
  • 1/2lb of green beans
  • A head of garlic

all for $15. {That’s good in my book}

The fair grounds was also having a flea market that day. It was quite interesting.

Barbies anyone?

photo64 I did fall in love with this couch….maybe not so much the with the white trim….if only I had a 2nd living room.

photo65

Later that morning Danae and I went fabric shopping for some new curtains in her house. We went to every fabric store from here to Edmond. It was quite the adventure….especially through South OKC.

photo63

Only there do you find an outdoor Circus.

SATURDAY night, D met me at my house with big bottle of wine after I picked up a new propane tank for the grill and a few other groceries.

We started the night making bacon wrapped jalapenos.

INGREDIENTS:

  • jalapenos {amount depends on how many people you have}
  • a container {or block} of cream cheese
  • a package of bacon {2 strips for each jalapeno}
  • latex gloves {trust me on this one}

{I’m not Pioneer Woman, but here’s my attempt at making diner thru pictures}

Pre-heat your oven to 375° and put on latex gloves before touching the jalapenos.

photo62

Cut the jalapeno’s in half. Use a spoon to clean out the insides {including all of the seeds} so they look like this.

photo61

Place the cleaned out jalapenos on a baking sheet and grab your cream cheese and a knife. {You might want to either take off your gloves and put them back on after you’ve gotten supplies, or just get a new pair}

Fill the jalapeno’s with cream cheese and place back on baking sheet.

photo60 Grab your package of bacon and wrap each slice of jalapeno with a full strip of bacon. Try to put the seams on the bottom, if you can’t, just use a toothpick.

photo59Place these babies in the oven for 20-30 minutes {depends on your oven, keep an eye on them} or until the bacon is crispy enough for you and ENJOY!

These make a fabulous appetizer for any party!

After the jalapeno poppers were made, we moved on to the main course! PIZZA!

I found these two 6-inch whole wheat pizza crusts at the Farmer’s Market and decided to make Margarita Pizza on the grill!

INGREDIENTS:

  • Pizza crust of any kind
  • Pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Tomato
  • Fresh Basil
  • A grill or oven

First start by preheating your grill or oven. Luckily on the package of my pizza crust it said cook at 350°, so I turned the grill on low-medium.

photo57

Then grab your pizza crust and apply the pizza sauce to your liking.

photo58

{Here’s where I got lazy on the pictures}

Add all of your toppings in the order you’d like. I put the cheese on, cut up some of the basil and sprinkled it on top. Then I sliced up the tomato and placed it on top of everything.

I put the two pizzas on the grill and shut the lid for about 5-10 minutes, until all the cheese was melted and the crust was crispy.

photo55

ahhh….the Perfect summer dinner!

I won’t get into the details of the rest of the night…mostly because they are extremely blurry, but I know they involved Danae, MH and this….

STILL LAUGHING…..

dating diary #2.

{I wrote this a few weeks ago have debated since on whether to post this. I finally decided to press publish}

I am not good at being single. Just plain not good at it. I can't handle the anxiety of dating, I'm too much of an open-book person, I don't know how nor care to play "games", and lately I don't have the best outlook on guys.

I'm 100% myself to people from the moment I meet them. The good and The bad...I'm clumsy, I like to do kid-like things, I make hard core blond comments at times, I embarrass myself often....the list could go on....

There was a moment a few years ago when my next door neighbor became Hot Neighbor {HN}.

There was a moment a few weeks ago when my Dad labeled HN as Mr. Hunk {MH}.

HN and MH have stuck.

How/why MH still talks to me...I'm not sure.

We honestly are the two most awkward people around each other.

These are the events that happened at his house a few weeks ago:

  • He ordered pizza in which I had to pay for half because he didn't have enough cash.
  • He consumed half of the 2 Large pizzas by himself
  • Along with 3 diet-cherry coke zero's. {all in 2 hours}
  • His couch attacked me {a spring between the cushions cut my toe}
  • He helped clean up my attacked foot as the cut bled for 10 minutes {stupid alcohol}
  • He took at 3 second swig of Jameson Whiskey
  • We laid on the floor facing each other like 2 elementary school kids laughing at his OCD dog.
  • He asked me to "slumber" {his exact words} 3 times before I finally gave in.

That was followed by this conversation as we fell asleep:

  • Me: Are you wearing socks?
  • HN: ya, my feet are cold?
  • Me: Who wears socks to bed?
  • HN: Well what are you supposed to do if your feet are cold?
  • Me: {insert awkward laughter} I don't know, put blankets on them?
  • HN: Well I don't have enough blankets.
  • Me: Well then turn up the air {followed again by awkward laughter}
  • HN: {long pause} Why would I do that?

Who wears socks to bed? Let alone in the summer?!

In the dating life there will be great moments, horrible moments, and moments that you look back upon and just laugh.

This was one of those laughing moments.

I'm still laughing about that night weeks later.

the trailer.

Ev and D’s wedding trailer is up!!!! I can’t wait  for the whole thing…this is such a tease!
Love you guys! The wedding was perfect!
{my screen isn’t wide enough, but this will just have to work!}
The video was done by Ryan and Jonathan at Industry405. They were the nicest guys and did quite an amazing job!

fourth.

I had an eventful July 4th weekend this year. I won’t go into details, because they aren’t my details to give, but I was there for a friend who is going through one of the most difficult times in her life.

I became friends with her a short 4 months ago, but we instantly clicked and have become the best of friends.

I am a TRUE believer in “everything happens for a reason” and a TRUE believer that God puts you through things and puts people into your life at certain points for certain reasons.

My friends have been amazing to me over the past 6 months and I am only doing what any good friend does. But I believe my way of thanking my friends is by paying it forward and I will do WHATEVER I need to help her.

NOW ON TO THE 4TH.

It sure was a different fourth for me as I haven’t spent that weekend with my family since I was probably in High School, but I have to say we had quite a good time.

We had hamburgers, margaritas, fireworks, wine, and …..SPARKLERS {although the ones they sold me were a complete bust…stupid fireworks stand}

It was quite a fabulous fourth.

club finds.

I’ve had a Sam’s Club membership for a few years now. Why, I’m not really sure. I HARDLY ever buy food there. I don’t go through anything fast enough to  buy in bulk {and it’s always in variety packs, I’m not a variety kind of person}. Most of the time I’m only in there because I’m extremely bored and I like to look around at their stuff; However, the place comes in handy for a few things.

1) They have THE MOST AMAZING BROWNIES EVER. I’m not joking. I’ve never had a party or taken them to a party without receiving millions of compliments about them. {If only I could claim them as my own}.

They’re pre-made but have the perfect amount of gooey-ness. They box even has lines so you can cut them evenly!

2) Sam’s also has quite the selection of flowers. I’m serious. They’re flowers are gorgeous; not like ones you find in the grocery store {although they do have some bouquets like that}. You can pick anything from carnations to calla lilies; all ranging in price from $4-10/bundle {usually 4-10 stems}.

Last weekend I purchased bundles of calla lilies, hydrangeas, irises, and some spider daisies. It cost me a total of $25.00 and here is the final product.

photo52{designing bouquets is definitely not in my future}

3) Fruit. I’m a BIG fruit eater and this place has not only a huge selection, but GREAT prices! You can’t beat a pineapple for $2.99. {Maybe you can at Wal-Mart, but I refuse to go there}

If you have a membership there take advantage of it! And if you don’t, go find someone who has one!
